Stephen Bertles
Stephen Bertles has primarily been entertaining students in the classroom for the past ten years. Prior to teaching he was involved in many productions both locally and across the states. He worked at Candlelight Dinner Playhouse, Boulder Dinner Theatre, Country Dinner Playhouse, and the Arvada Center. Favorite roles include the Tinman in The Wizard of Oz, Mike in A Chorus Line, and Mungojerrie in Cats. He worked onboard Crystal Cruises’ Harmony, Symphony, and Serenity Ships. And enjoyed touring with Cats in the U.S. and Canada. He is currently teaching Drama to the 4th through 8th grade students at St. Anne’s Episcopal School in Denver.

The Pumpkin Kid
Jane Curry
Jane is excited to headline as the Pumpkin Kid for the second year this year! She loves art, reading, animals, and her family. When she’s not on stage she’s often living in a world of pretend, spending time with friends and family, and snuggling her dog, Spot! She’s so grateful to Suzanne, Jeff and the whole cast for another great season and always making her feel welcome!

The Tailor
Rob Utesch
Rob Utesch is an accomplished director, acting coach, and actor with experience in local and educational theater in metro Denver. A graduate of Loretto Heights College with a BA in Theater and a teaching certificate from Regis University, Rob has directed and acted in dozens of productions ranging from West Side Story to original plays. Beyond the stage—including winning First Prize on ABC’s America’s Funniest People—Rob owes much of his journey to his loved ones. Special thanks go to Jeff and Suzanne for their beautiful play, and to his wonderful wife, Pam, and family for their unwavering love and encouragement.

David Hintz
David Hintz is excited to be joining the cast of The Pumpkin Kid. Hailing all the way from Mississippi, David recently moved to Denver to create Theatre and explore the Rocky mountains. David loves juggling, playing guitar and doing improv with his friends.

The Candle Lady
Karey James-Montoya
Karey Montoya James is excited to reprise her role as the Candle Lady with Skyward Productions this year! She had a blast last year! She has since been seen in Come Blow Your Horn as Mother/Mrs. Baker and in the Ensemble in Godspell, both with Broomfield Community Players. Karey loves her daytime job as a 5th-grade teacher at St. Anne’s Episcopal School in Denver and participating in the performing arts in her spare time! She thanks her family and friends for all their love and support, and you for supporting live theatre!

The Candle Man
Bryan Plummer
Bryan Plummer is thrilled to be back performing in the mile high! He was seen most recently this summer throwing body parts overboard as Wealthy Husband in Disaster! The Musical. Other Colorado highlights have been Igor in Young Frankenstein (Vintage), Lord Clapham in Something Rotten (Stagedoor Theatre), Frog in A Year with Frog and Toad (Vintage Tour), plus featured ensemble roles in Shrek (Sasquatch/Parker Arts), School of Rock (Veritas/Parker Arts), and Escape to Margaritaville (Give5/Parker Arts). Bryan’s favorite regional theatre highlights include Lion in The Wizard of Oz, Lord Fancourt Babberly in Charlie’s Aunt, Ali Hakim in Oklahoma, Charlie Brown in A Charlie Brown Christmas and Lefou in Beauty and the Beast. Bryan lived in Salzburg, Austria studying music, and has had the opportunity to sing in over 15 countries plus all over the US. This show is for Mom!

The Baker
Julia Schorger
Julia Schorger graduated from the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts with her degree in Musical Theatre. She was since a part of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown as Lucy and Legally Blonde as Serena at the Arts hub. This is her second show with this amazing team, most recently she was seen as Nauls in the rock/comedy/musical parody of Maude Carpenter's The Thing at the 2026 Denver Fringe Festival.

The Farmboy
Graham Becerra
Graham Becerra is beyond excited to perform in The Pumpkin Kid! He is a recent graduate from the University of Denver with a B.A. in theater with distinction in directing. His previous credits include Performance Now Theater Company: Gypsy (Angie), Fiddler on the Roof (Ensemble); Colorado Shakespeare Festival (Assistant to the director); University of Denver: Laika (Director), Into the Woods (Assistant Director); Phamaly Theater: Pippin (Ensemble); and Vintage Theater: Director for the New Director’s Showcase and Directing Intern for The Legend of Georgia McBride and The Hombres.
